How do I get to NAS Whidbey Island?

**Please Note that due to the unique geography of the Puget Sound region, the Washington highway system can be indirect and include ferry crossings. Point to point distances on the map can be misleading and actual travel times and routes may be significantly longer.

If you are arriving by air to SeaTac International Airport transportation is available and you can get information about prices and schedules by stopping in at the USO office. Signs directing you to the USO office can be found on your way to the baggage claim area.

You may also be able to make arrangements with your command or sponsor to have someone meet you at the airport.


What is the Whidbey Island area like?

The surrounding communities of Oak harbor, Coupeville and Anacortes provide a small town atmosphere with events and recreation opportunities to keep things lively.

The cities of Burlington and Bellingham have a bit more to offer for those who are looking for a slightly faster pace and Seattle, with a lively nightlife and wide range of attractions is only about two hours away.

What services are available for families enrolled in the Exceptional Family Member Program?

Naval Hospital Oak Harbor (NHOH) is designated as an Exceptional Family Member Program (EFM) Category 5 facility. However, as a small community hospital, some specialty services are limited. A variety of more specialized treatment up to is available via referral at other military and civilian facilities throughout the Puget Sound region.
